04-18-08 Wedding of Melissa & Chris

This was a fun wedding with my good friend and fantastic artist, Jose Reyes. These are some of the images I managed to capture throughout the evening.  As you can see Melissa & Chris were quite demonstrative and loving with each other. Lots of PDA! Way to go guys.

04-13-08 Photos from Bridal Week for Kirstie Kelly & Disney!

This fashion show was a fashion-photojournalist's dream! Instead of the normal runway show that most designers use for fashion or bridal week the folks at Disney with the creative minds of Kirstie Kelly, & the talented ladies of Designer Loft created stage scenes (vignettes) from the Disney classic stories (Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, etc).  The fashion show was held at Loft Eleven in midtown and at about 7:30 the press and media made their way in and the gorgeous gowns were being photographed at a frenzy.

Of course, I had the best job out of everyone there, because not only was I shooting  the fashion, but I got a special backstage pass to shoot all the behind the scenes stuff as well!  Check out the details, the decor, and the PINK cocktails.

Now, besides all the glam models and fashionistas that came to the show, I had the rare opportunity to photograph the uber popular wedding planner extraordinaire, Mindy Weiss with the ultra talented and very photogenic "it" designer, Kirstie Kelly. Super lucky me!

Now, in case you are wondering, I NEVER drink on the job, but once the camera was put away I did get a chance to try one of the colorful cocktails at the fiesta, and boy was it awesome! The folks at PINK sure know how to make a delicious drink.  You have to buy a bottle of PINK. they're the sexiest bottles on the market!!!! How great is my job!

03-21-08 Toronto, Canada for corporate headshots

This was definitely one of the coolest assignments because not only did it involve flying on a plane to Canada, but I also had the chance to do both makeup and photography for one of the coolest families I have ever worked with.  Debbie Goodland is creator and owner of Mixis.

Her company creates these incredible contemporary dolls accurately representing the many wonderful &  diverse cultures and ethnicities found today.  If like many moms or aunties, you have had a difficult time finding a doll to gift to that special child in your life, look no further.  I was lucky enough to bring two home to my two gorgeous nieces. Oh my gosh, I was almost run over by my little niece Rianna who absolutely loved her "Rosa" doll.  And, not only will children love the dolls and the hip clothing Debbie designs, but the children will also learn about their doll's culture. How smart is that?

Debbie & Richard, thank you so much for flying me out to work in your wonderful town and spend time with your beautiful family. This was definitely a trip worth taking and one to be remembered with new friends!

03-16-08 Photo Shoot with Headpiece & Jewelry Designer Nancy Redisch

When local headpiece and jewelry designer Nancy Redisch, asked us to assist her on one of her shoots for her upcoming and very anticipated website, we willingly jumped at the chance to assist her. For those of you that haven't had the opportunity to meet Nancy or purchase her one of a kind masterpieces, she is such a warm and nurturing person. And, not only was she hysterical to listen to, but she was a heck of an assistant. Nancy, thanks for letting us be part of your day and we can't wait to see your beautiful pieces on display on your new website.
These group of models were so much fun to work with and as you can tell Magda outdid herself yet again with the hairstyles. I loved them all, but I think my favorite hairstyle was the red haired model because all the hairpieces looked amazing against the color of her hair.
Behind the Scenes:
Headpieces and Jewelry: Nancy Redisch 201-767-4225
Hair: Magda (Susie) Nyitray from Magda's Designs
Makeup: Magda (Susie) and Millie b.

03-14-08 Another awesome Boudoir (b-session)!

On Friday Magda, Jessica, and I worked on one of the friendliest and most energetic brides for another HOTTTT b-session! She was just so full of life and of course it totally helped that she trusted us completely. And as you can tell she ROCKED the shoot. This hottie bride just did everything we asked of her and I think you'll agree, her husband to be is going to love these photos. Luckily for all of us, our awesome client gave us permission to use the body shots on our blog to share with all of you. Special kudos to my hair and makeup team and collaborators Magda (Susie) & Jessica. And, although you can't see the makeup and hair for this shoot, remember that the hair and makeup for the b-session is SOOOOO important. The hotter you look and feel the hotter the photos.

02-12-08 NYC Bridal Show at the Roosevelt Hotel

Magda and I were really overjoyed at the prospect of working with the incredible styling team from Designer Loft http://www.designerloftnyc.com/ for this really cool bridal showcase at the Roosevelt Hotel hosted by non other than Iris from IGMC http://www.igmc.net/. Now, I wish I could say that everything went off smashingly well, but Magda and I literally had to drive through a storm to get to the show and with very little time to spare we worked on hair and makeup. As you can see from the photos, I couldn't resist grabbing my camera (which everyone knows I refer to as my children) and snapping away at a few momentos!
The ladies from Designer Loft (Paulette, Liz, and event planner and friend Annette) showcased the type of dresses and accessories that every bride dreams of wearing and every photographer dreams of photographing. And, like the wedding photographer nerd that I am, of course I grabbed a few details (flowers, hotel and band shots, and let's not forget the cake)! Sylvia Wynstock made a very brief appearance but the taste of her cake still lives in my memory! Can you tell I absolutely LOVE cake?
Closing out the night were some of the most amazing live bands that I have ever heard. If you haven't found your dress and are still searching for an amazing band, do yourself a favor and call Designer Loft to pick up a celebrity style gown and Iris from IGMC for the most kick ass band you will ever hear. Happy trails!

02-09-08 Caitlin & Brendan at St. Patrick's Cathedral

WOW! What a great day to be in NYC, photographing a beautiful bride, her handsome husband and their crazy funny family and friends. Upon entering her home, we were instantly greeted like guests and not just working vendors. Caitlin was radiant and full of energy. Not only did she give us warm big hugs upon greeting us, but did just the same as we left the party later that night.

Caitlin rocked in her gorgeous Paloma Blanca gown (http://www.palomablanca.com/) and soft furry stole. Very NYC socialite! And, Brendan did some damage of his own looking very debonair in a black tux.

St. Patrick's Cathedral gave us plenty of opportunity to capture NYC's historical architecture and street life and while at Bridgewaters at the South Street Seaport, we were able to take in the swanky decor and atmosphere.

I wish I could say that we were just purely exhausted from working so hard, but the truth is we were exhausted from laughing it up and shooting on overtime as the guests partied the night away, creating some interesting dance moves and great photo ops.

Caitlin and Brendan, we feel so lucky and blessed to have been gifted with photographing your event. Thank you for the fun, the breathtaking scenery, and your generosity! Enjoy the honeymoon!
